Typical raw data exported from PATSy has a 'header', followed by a row of data column headings and then data in the columns - like this:

Patient: NH
Test: Howard & Franklin 100 pictures: Naming
Date: 07.10.1997

Item number	Transcript of patient response	Score	Self-Correct
1	well this is a an electric iron 1
2	and this is a / ..IPA text.. / of cotton 1
3	and this is a flag 1
4	and this is an egg 1
5	and this is the / ..IPA text.. / sun 1
6	and this is a ruler 1
.	.
.	.
.	.

..etc..

Although the columns may not look quite lined up when viewed as text (as with this example), they will be lined up when the file is imported into a spreadsheet.

'About' information

When viewing the test list for a patient in data mode you will find the usual 'About' information - in this case: 'About PATSy raw data'. The raw data 'About' window contains disclaimers, and conditions-of-use information, together with a brief description of how raw data mode differs from 'normal' modes of access. In brief, exported raw data is just that - scores and plain text only - ie. without multimedia (video, audio, graphic images, phonetic (IPA) transcriptions), test stimulus images etc.

We plan to eventually allow users who are not PATSy subscribers to access PATSy in data-mode only. These users might be following a link to PATSy published in a journal article, for example.

Trying out data mode:

If you would like to enable data mode for yourself or for other individual PATSy users, you can do so by going into PATSy in 'Administrator' mode, selecting 'Update user setting', selecting the person or group you wish to enable and then selecting 'raw data user' from the 'Add user type' menu.

If you wish to enable data mode for an entire group of users, click on 'Update group settings', select the group you wish to change, and scroll down to the bottom. You will see a new "Raw Data Extraction" option: click "ON", then "Submit".

We encourage you to try out this new feature of PATSy welcome any comments, feedback or suggestions you might have.
