TASKS/OBJECTIVES (Tick when completed)

Can you get into PATSy?

• check machine is switched on
• check headphones available & plugged in
• headphones (or speaker if no headphones) are working
• activate the browser (Netscape)
• type in URL http://patsy.cogsci.ed.ac.uk/
• When it asks for username. Type your own username in
• For the password, use your own password (note one or both may be CaSe-SeNsItIvE).

Familiarise yourself with PATSy's front page

• Read "confidentiality and terms of use agreement"
• "A simple walk-through of the PATSy system, with no passwords required.".
• Look in "About PATSy"- Can you find the students' feedback report on PATSy? (the rest you can read in your own time)

Can you see a patient called NH?

• Enter at Student level
• Select access type "Information Only"
• Go to patients
• Select NH
• Go see the patient NH - Click on video
• Click on "Back" on browser toolbar above
• Find the first tutorial question about NH's movie
• View "About PATSy videos"
• See her medical record
• Must read "About medical PATSy medical records"
• View "Interesting features about this patient"
• View "Publications relevant to this patient"
• View "Contributions"

Change access type to PATSy- "Assessment Practise"?

• Return to Web page with "PATSy user Options"
• Select Student level
• Then select "assessment only"
• How does this differ from "Information only" access?
• Select "Go to patients" for the next exercise

Can you administer an auditory test to NH using the ADA P1 Minimal pairs test to NH?

• Select NH again
• Select "Test data"
• Select ADA L1:lexical decision (spoken)
• Select "About this test"
• Select "norms"
• Administer the test to NH by selecting "Listen to stimulus" then select "reveal". The "Correct" column tells you what the right answer should be.
• Click on Patient NH page (at bottom) to return to test list

Can you use PATSy's log?

• Select "Patient NH page" (at bottom) to return to test menu
• Select "Add to log"
• Type in your answers about her performance on the 100 picture naming test
• Now you MUST "Submit" to SAVE your work. If you forget, you will lose all your work.
• Now select "View log" to read what you have written
• Select " About PATSy transcription"

Can you administer the first 5 items of the TROG to NH?

• Select "Add to log" and state how she performed
• Click on Patient NH page (at bottom)to return to menu
• Select "View log". (You should see a history of everything you have written so fa on NH).If not, then you have forgotten to use the "submit" button.

Can you administer the first 5 items of the 100 picture naming test to NH?

• How did she perform?

Can you exit PATSy in a responsible way?

• Select "PATSy Speech & Language Home" (at bottom)
• Go to "File" on the top menu of the Web page
• Select "Exit" which quits the browser
• Select "Start" in the left bottom corner of the page.
• Select "Log Off."
• Select "yes" when it asks if you want to log off.
• This procedure is very important to stop anyone else interacting with PATSy as YOU.

Can you SHUT DOWN?

Go to "Start" and then select "Shut down"
